Multiple calls about heavy black smoke were called into the Danbury 911 dispatcher on Thursday (July 27).

Danbury Fire Department's Deputy Fire Chief Bill Lounsbury reported that his units were alerted that columns of smoke rising from 2 Great Pasture Rd. that could be seen from downtown Danbury.

Lounsbury immediately upgraded the incident to a 2-alarm fire adding additional Danbury Fire units, Danbury Hospital Emergency Medical Services, Danbury Police, and the Bethel Fire Dept. Truck 1 rolled out their aerial ladder to take a look and determined the solar array on the building's roof was on fire.

The Danbury Fire Dept. thermal imaging drone was sent up to monitor the situation which helps the incident commander make the correct decisions with regard to the roof fire. No one was injured during the fire and there was nominal damage reported to the building.
