Last week, we were shocked by the news of the Cheshire High School teacher found dead in the woods near her home.

On Wednesday (October 3), Megumi Yamamoto was reported missing and her body was found a short time later in a wooded area near a stream about a half a mile away from her home. The cause of her death is still a mystery. Courant.com reports that an autopsy performed on Friday could not determine a cause of death and that further study is necessary.  Yamamoto leaves behind her husband and two children.

Friends and family can pay their last respects during visitation hours at Alderson-Ford Funeral Home in Cheshire, on Tuesday from 2 to 4pm. The beloved teacher will be laid to rest at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery after a memorial service at Alderson-Ford Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11am.

The family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Meriden or Owatonna Public Library in Minnesota.
