I've been watching and reporting on the destruction/reconstruction of the old Hawleyville Deli along Rt. 25/Hawleyville Road over the past couple of years, and I'm happy to report that the brand-new Mitchell deli, coffee shop, convenience store, and gas station is officially open for business as of today, Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

I've seen the construction really pick up over the past couple of months, and I had to stop in this morning on the way into work because I saw that the doors were open and customers were gassing up and coming out of the store with food and merchandise.

This is the eighth Mitchell gas and convenience store in the greater Danbury area, and it's really a great location, right off of I-84 Exit 9. It's the only gas station for quite a few miles around, and, in my opinion, it's a huge improvement over the old Hawleyville Deli.

I took a few photos of the interior and exterior, and I met with Jonathan, the Mitchell marketing rep, who gave me a few insights into the beautiful new facility.

The breakfast and lunch options on their menu look very good -- I'm thinking I might be a regular at this place. Great job, Mitchell, I think this investment you've made in Hawleyville will be a very welcome one for us here that frequent the area.
