Danbury Announces Schedule + Guidlines for Fall Leaf Pick-Up
All those leaves falling to the ground — what a pain. The City of Danbury won't rake them for you, but they offer a helping hand in taking them away.
The Fall season and leaf peeping is such a popular pastime in New England, but those leaves eventually hit the ground, and you know they have to be picked up. You do the raking, and the City of Danbury will pick them up for free.
The Danbury Fall Leaf Pick-Up Schedule is set for 2017. The basic details are as follows:
Starting Monday, October 23, 2017 and running through Friday, December 1, 2017. ONLY LEAVES bagged in PAPER LEAF BAGS with NO TAPE should be left at curbside in front of residences for the city’s Highway Department to pick-up.
NO TAPE OF ANY KIND, NO PLASTIC BAGS, NO LARGE DEBRIS, NO GRASS, ROCKS, DIRT, GARBAGE OR ANIMAL WASTE. NO BRUSH or TREE STUMPS.
BRANCHES WILL BE PICKED UP SEPARATELY.
Residents are asked to place their bags curbside Sunday evenings.
The posting also says:
tree limbs have to be cut into lengths no longer than 4 feet, no limb may be larger than 4 inches in diameter. Branches must be bundled with twine in bundles no heavier than 35 lbs.
In regards to when the pick-up happens, you need to follow the schedule. The program is divided by I-84, like this:
Section A is south of I-84 (zip code 06810) and Section B is north of I-84 (zip code 06811).
You can read all the information, as well as see the entire pick-up schedule at danbury-ct.gov.
