Brookfield, CT's Down the Hatch is a treasure to folks in the Greater Danbury area. It's the only restaurant on Candlewood Lake where you can pull your boat up to the dock, go in for a bite and have a cocktail. Since it's such a popular spot for summer fun, many people have been asking questions about the opening in our new COVID-19 reality. The Ethan and Lou Show reached out to the owner Scott Parente to get a rundown of this summer's reality. He reluctantly agreed to do the show on Friday (5/15/20) and this is what he had to say.

Like so many local business owners he seems less concerned with his new regulations and the systems he'll need to put in place to observe the laws and more concerned with his customers having a positive experience. He sounds confident he can do what it takes to show everyone a good/safe time but everyone's going to have to be patient.

We all need to understand the new rules will limit the way and others can do business. The bottom line is, on a sunny day you might have to wait to get in and that's not the end of the world as long as we don't start slapping each other over it. It's no one's fault, there's a murderous disease on the loose and until there isn't, things are going to be different.
