Sights From Danbury’s First Downtown Chow-Down of The Year
Great food, live music, and outdoor dining make for a great lunch break and I took full advantage today at CityCenter Danbury's first Downtown Chow-Down of the season.
The Downtown Chow-Down happens every Thursday from 11:30 to 2:30 at Kennedy Park on Elm Street. Every week, they'll have a couple of different food trucks and live music.
When I got there, things had been going for about an hour. The food line looked long but moved really quickly, and I grooved out to Danbury's Noah Feldman cranking out acoustic versions of "A Horse With No Name" and "Come Together" as I waited my turn. I opted for the awesome Rice & Beans food truck, and had... you guessed it... rice and beans, with chicken on it. It was great, and I spent pretty much exactly what I would have if I had gone to a deli or fast food place for lunch. To hang outdoors and listen to some tunes really enhanced the lunch break.
You can keep up with all the Chow-Down happenings on their Facebook page.
