I-95 Exclusive: Danbury Mayoral Candidate Emile Buzaid Shares His Vision for the City
Emile Buzaid is the Danbury Republican Running for Mayor
Emile Buzaid is a longtime Danbury business owner and a current member of the City Council. He’s also running for mayor this November, going up against incumbent Roberto Alves.

While news of Buzaid’s campaign has been out for a while now, we got the chance to catch up with him for the first time on Thursday, September 25th, 2025. Here’s part of that conversation.
Lou: In terms of running the City of Danbury, what would you do differently than the current administration?
Emile: "Well, the big difference would be how I would spend my time. I know Danbury — I know Danbury very well. I've worked and studied with ten mayors, so I've watched, I've seen what works, I've seen what doesn't work. Some cities, the mayor is a figurehead and then they have a business manager or some kind of a manager for the city. That is not Danbury. In Danbury, the mayor must manage the city. I would dedicate my time to managing the city, plus the public relations and all of the other things that go along with it. But it's a large organization. I have a big background in managing. I've had my companies in Danbury for many, many years, and a lot of my employees have been with me for twenty. So, I have a pretty good feel for managing — and it really needs to start there. There are only so many hours in the day. I'm not interested in doing anything out of town. I would be strictly focused on the operation of Danbury and taking care of its citizens."
