Danbury’s Special Investigations Division Seizes Drugs, Arrest 3

According to a brand-new press release from the City of Danbury, police arrested three individuals on April 21, 2025, following a drug raid at 13 Michael Street.

The operation was led by the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID), with support from multiple units and a Bethel Police officer.

The investigation was sparked an array of citizen complaints regarding suspected drug activity at the residence. Upon executing a search warrant, detectives forced entry into the apartment. The main suspect, 56-year-old Akrim Danzy, attempted to take off but was quickly apprehended in the bathroom.

During the search, police say they seized cocaine, fentanyl, buprenorphine, cash, and drug paraphernalia. Two other individuals present at the residence, both with active arrest warrants, were also taken into custody: Jhenniffer Alves-Dasilva and Warren Hawkins.

Mayor Roberto Alves praised the department’s efforts, emphasizing the city’s commitment to fighting the spread of fentanyl and ensuring public safety. “Fentanyl has destroyed communities and families across Connecticut,” he stated, vowing continued support for law enforcement.

The department credited local residents for reporting the suspicious activity.

Akrim Danzy is facing the following charges:

Possession of a Controlled Substance (3 counts)
Possession of a Narcotic Substance with Intent to Sell (2 counts)
Possession of a Narcotic Substance Over 1 Ounce with Intent to Sell
Bond: $250,000
