Danbury Cops Close In On Drug Dealer After Community Tips
According to the Danbury Police Department, a months-long investigation into illegal drug activity around the city led to an arrest this week after detectives say they gathered enough evidence to move in.

Police say the investigation started after complaints from residents who were concerned about ongoing drug sales in their neighborhoods. Detectives with Danbury PD’s Special Investigations Division, working alongside the Community Conditions Unit, focused their attention on Dean Loconte, who police describe as a convicted felon already known to them from prior narcotics-related cases. After building their case, detectives obtained court-approved search warrants for Loconte himself, his cellphone, and an apartment in Danbury connected to the investigation.
On January 8, detectives were reportedly watching the apartment when they observed Loconte leave the residence. Police say they approached him, detained him without incident, and then carried out the search warrants. During the searches, investigators allegedly recovered multiple bags of fentanyl, more than 10 grams of crack cocaine, a significant amount of cash, an electronic scale, and packaging materials consistent with drug distribution.

Loconte was taken into custody and transported to Danbury Police Headquarters for processing. Police say additional details, including booking information and charges, were released following the arrest as the investigation continues.
