CT Breweries Giving Back With Special Beers

Many local breweries are stepping up to help their communities, with special benefit beers on sale.

The Connecticut Brewer's Guild has released a special collaboration beer to benefit unemployed restaurant workers. "Guild Pils" has just about sold out of its initial run, although we're told Housatonic River Brewing in New Milford still had a few cases. The Guild Pils was brewed by the Connecticut Brewers' Guild to benefit the Connecticut Hospitality Employee Relief Fund.

CT Brewers' Guild Executive Director Phil Pappas said in a press release,

In this unprecedented time, it's more important than ever to support your local, job-creating small businesses, like breweries, bars, and restaurants. Ordering food and beer to-go, or for delivery, merchandise, and gift cards for future use, can help a local business dramatically. We have always been humbled and amazed by the comradery surrounding the CT craft beer community, and are grateful for the community members who have shown their continued allegiance over the last few weeks.

Reverie Brewing in Newtown has a special beer of their own, called "Small Business Relief IPA" with proceeds going to help small businesses in Newtown that have been affected by the shutdown.

Bad Sons in Derby and Armada Brewing in East Haven collaborated on a special Pale Ale called COMPED, again benefiting the Connecticut Hospitality Employee Relief Fund.

All Together IPA is a beer that over 500 breweries are making to benefit the restaurant industry as well. Locally, Half Full and Lock City in Stamford, Nod Hill in Ridgefield and Tribus in Milford are selling the beer.
