The day most of us have been waiting for.

It seems that Connecticut has done very well with keeping our COVID-19 numbers low, and hopefully will continue to do so. Governor Ned Lamont reported today in his press conference that, for the first time since March, there have been no new COVID-related deaths to report.

This is fantastic news, and seems like a breath of fresh air. Connecticut is one of the very few states that are seeing a decrease in numbers rather than an increase. According to an announcement from the Office of Gov. Ned Lamont, there have been 57 new confirmed COVID cases in Connecticut as of Monday (July 6), and an increase in 14 hospitalizations due to the virus. With 5,745 tests reported as of Monday, Lamont stated that the state's positivity rate remains at 0.99%, He reported these stats on Twitter, including a breakdown per county:

This news comes right after the City of Danbury reported that there have been zero new cases and no new deaths for three days in a row over the course of this past weekend (July 3-5).

Connecticut seems to be taking all of the necessary steps to keep these numbers what they are. As of Tuesday afternoon (July 7), the state additionally added three more states to their travel advisory: Delaware, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Now totaling a list of 19 states, people coming from these states to Connecticut are advised to quarantine for 14 days. This is another step in the right direction to keep our numbers down.

I can only hope people will continue to follow all safety measures, and that we can continue to report news like this.
