Connecticut Race Tracks Perfect for High Speed Summertime Fun
Racin'...it is as much an American obsession as baseball, grandmas, and apple pie. We had a lot of small race tracks in my home state of Kansas, most of the "dirt track" variety. I wanted to see what was close to the Greater Danbury area and I found four that we will highlight in this article.

I never got into the whole racing thing. Sure, I had the electric racetracks, a few radio-controlled race cars, hot wheels, and that sort of thing, but actual racing and race cars never caught on with me. We went to a tractor pull one time and I wanted to leave as soon as we got there. So, you can say that I am not into that, but I do see the intrigue and interest one would have in such spectacles and activities.
We support your right to have a racecar with a huge engine that goes really fast. If that is what makes you happy, then it makes us happy too. Here are 4 Connecticut race track locations you might want to grab the family and head to for some good old-fashioned red-blooded American fun. We are going to take a "look-see" at Lime Rock Park (old stomping grounds of Mr. Paul Newman), Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, The New London-Waterford Speedbowl, and Stafford Motor Speedway.
Each racetrack has its own personality, look and feel. I have found that usually in these types of places, you will meet the most genuine, down-to-earth type of people anywhere.
