Yeah, IMAX screens are cool, but they're even better outdoors. I love the drive-in movie experience. It's tough to do it here in Connecticut, at this moment, there are only two in operation, and one of them announced their classic lineup of films for the summer of 23.

I'm holding out hope that the Pleasant Valley Drive-in in Barkhamsted is being renovated, the former owner's announced recently that they have sold the place. Rumors have been flying on local message boards that the former drive-in is being renovated for a Costco or BJ's, while others have said that the new owners want to keep the tradition going, I guess we'll see soon? If you're looking for a nice night out watching your favorite characters on the big screen under the stars with the kids, Southington Drive-In has just announced a slate of classic films that will run Saturday nights from June - September 2023.

  • June 17 - Aladdin
  • June 24 - Minions - The Rise of Gru
  • July 1 - Grease

Rather see a first-run movie? Mansfield Drive-in in Mansfield is the only other drive-in in operation in Connecticut. Right now they're showing Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Dungeons & Dragons, and 65 with Adam Driver. Grab me a bucket of buttered if you go to the concession stand.

Rt. 202 Should Be Known As The Pretzel Trail in Connecticut

Between New Milford and Canton on Rt. 202, there are 3 different pretzel masters, each with a unique pretzel product. I will be the first to call 202 the Connecticut Pretzel Trail

Greater Danbury's 13 Most Amusing Photos Captured by the Google Car

Google Instant Street View is easily my favorite free application. You can take a digital cruise through the streets of Milan Italy, a drive down the PCH in California or tool around your local area without leaving your office chair. But the best use of Instant Street View is to catch unbeknownst moments. If you look long enough, hard enough, you will find some really funny things. I've spent years combing through the Greater-Danbury area Google footage and these are some of my favorite snaps.
