City Hall Teams With Sports Dome for 2022 Danbury Summer Camp
Between COVID-19 and a long winter, the past year was a nightmare for children looking for fun. Thankfully, Danbury has worked up a plan for the coming summer.
According to a press release from Mayor Dean Esposito's office, the City of Danbury has teamed with the Danbury Sports Dome for a 2022 Summer Camp. Mayor Esposito called this a top priority of his administration, adding:
“I want to thank the Danbury Sports Dome for partnering with the City of Danbury to give our children an enhanced and expanded summer camp offering this year. Now more than ever, we must provide the vital resources for our children to excel, and this approach will take our summer camps to the next level. Sports provide an excellent training in leadership and teamwork that is needed to create a strong foundation in every child’s life.”
This program works on a first come, first serve basis and will cost $100 per camper, per week. The camp is available to 1st through 8th grade children. Please register on the Danbury Sports Dome website or in person at Danbury Sports Dome located at 25 Shelter Rock Lane Danbury, CT 06810.
The camp comes complete with free lunches and the menus will be posted soon. This is good for the City of Danbury and the Hatter kids. Getting, and keeping these kids busy is difficult under normal circumstances, and we can all agree, the last year has been abnormally bad for a variety of reasons.
Schedule:
- Week 1: June 20th -June 24th
- Week 2: June 27th -July 1st
- Week 3: July 5th - July 8th
- Week 4: July 11 th -July 15th
- Week 5: July 18th -July 22nd
- Week 6: July 25th -July 29th
- Week 7: August 1st -August 5th
NOTE: This program is limited to Danbury residents only.
P.S. Good job by the city for making it a Danbury residents-only program. That is not an easy decision but it's the right one. Danbury residents have a need for this, more than any of the other communities in the Greater-Danbury area. Making this available to the surrounding towns would inevitably lead to Danbury residents missing out on the program.
