Connecticut Police Officers: Ridgefield Is Hiring and Paying Up to $119K
According to a release from the Ridgefield Police Department, the department is looking to add some certified police officers to the team.

The department is currently accepting applications from certified police officers who are interested in working in Ridgefield. The deadline to apply is September 18, 2026, so there’s still some time to get the application in, but I probably wouldn’t wait until the last minute.
The posted salary range is $79,058 to $119,903, depending on experience and other factors.
And if you’re wondering what kind of opportunities are available once you join the department, Ridgefield has a pretty impressive list of specialized units. Officers can work with the Accident Investigation Team, Bicycle Patrol, Detective Bureau, Drone Unit, K-9 Unit, Honor Guard, Regional SWAT Team, DARE, School Resource Officers, Search and Rescue, the Child Passenger Safety Team and the Motorcycle Unit.
So, basically, there are plenty of options if sitting behind a desk all day isn't exactly your idea of a police career.
For anyone unfamiliar with the term, a certified police officer in Connecticut is generally someone who has completed the state's required police training and certification process through the Police Officer Standards and Training Council, better known as POSTC. Certification establishes that an officer has met Connecticut's required standards to serve as a police officer.
The Ridgefield Police Department says interested candidates can apply through PoliceApp.com. The application information is included in the department's hiring announcement.
So, if you're already a certified officer, have been thinking about a change of scenery and Ridgefield sounds like a good fit, you've got until September 18 to throw your hat in the ring.
