Iconic New Milford Restaurant Up for Sale After 34 Years
For 34 years, SJ Barrington's on Route 7 in New Milford has been a regular dining destination and a place where "everybody knows your name" for countless New Milfordites. Jen Smith, a former 10-year employee, described the restaurant perfectly when she told the Newstimes,
It's like a "Cheers" place. You go there and all your friends are there.

The eatery closed up shop temporarily as the COVID-19 pandemic began picking up speed in the spring. Still, co-owner Susan Daigle and James Wright didn't walk away from the restaurant they've owned together for over three decades. Instead, they decided to give SJ Barrington's a facelift, which included new carpeting, linoleum, modern colors, and wainscoting.
After the remodeling project was complete, SJB reopened to the public by offering their bar menu, including appetizers, burgers, and sandwiches, along with salads and sides.
The co-owners have decided to put their restaurant on the market with Advantage Realty, saying it was time to retire. The memories they've made over the last 34 years are priceless. Here's what co-owner Susan Daigle told the Newstimes,
We've been here so long that we have fond memories of moms and dads coming here with their young kids and now the kids are coming here to have a drink.
In the good old days before the pandemic, you could bring along some friends for an evening of karaoke. There were fundraisers for various charities and who could ever forget the 'big shing ding' on St. Patrick's Day? SJ Barrington's is located at 48 Kent Road(Route 7) in New Milford.
