So "Her" is the new Spike Jonze movie about a man that falls in love with a computer (operating system).  Now a few thoughts.......

1 - Could this happen?  Could a person do this and the answer simply is YES.  Either they are lonely or enjoy the idea of someone or something that is "ALL IN" for them.

2 - If you had an intuitive computer that could emulate humanity but you also had a significant other, would they be jealous of it.  The answer is YES.  One of our listeners on Friday morning made a great point about his girlfriend being jealous of his comments about a mannequin in the mall...enough said....all men have been there.

3 - Would it last? NO.  The USB port is not big enough.

4 - How good is Hollywood at forecasting our technological future and the possible moral and social implications?  The answer is Hollywood is great at it!  Just a few examples: Terminator series, while none of the world ending consequences have come to the forefront it's till possible.  Or how about Steven Spielberg's: "Artificial Intelligence?"  It was panned by critics and a box office disaster but raised seriously good questions about what our moral obligation will be to future robots created to have feelings that will outlive us.  Those are just two examples but there are so many more.  This movie raises questions and good ones and we will have to wait and see how realistic it will be.  The future will tell us but I'm gonna see this movie for sure.
