I'm obsessed with Poutine. Potato, Curds, Gravy. Oh My God. It's a perfect culinary combo I discovered late in life. If it's on your menu, I'm going to order it. I'm starting to get a feel for who serves good poutine, and ehh poutine, so I have a suggestion for you if you love it as much as I do. Go to Canton, Connecticut.

What you see above is the Tater Tot Poutine that I ordered at Dish 'n Dat, which is located at 144 Albany Turnpike (Rt. 202) in Canton. I don't want to say that it was a mind-blowing moment, but it really kind of was for me. Up until this point, I'd only had poutine with fries. If it's even possible, I'm even more obsessed with tater tots than poutine. I blame Sonic's infiltration into the Connecticut fast food scene.

Anyway, what an incredible combination of flavor. Dish 'n Dat's tater tot poutine is a savory masterpiece, with fresh Mootz curds slathered in brown gravy, topped with chives and served piping hot. I inhaled at least half of it before I noticed that Mrs. Large wanted in. She loved it as much as I did.

Dish 'n Dat is really unique, it the retro-vibe of a classic American 50's/60's car-hop Diner, with modern takes on New England/American/Bar/Deli/Diner-food favorites. I washed down my poutine tots with their delicious Rhode Island Rachael fish sandwich. Check out their menu, Dish 'n Dat is a gem.
