Normally, we're reporting about stores that are closing their doors in the area, but today it's good news, as a trendy clothing retailer is opening in the Danbury Fair Mall.

H&M is returning to Danbury and will open up a brand new store Thursday (August 22) at the Danbury Fair Mall.

H&M had been a fixture in the mall until they closed in 2014. Now they are back and join the Disney store as retailers that had closed and then made a triumphant return.

This time around, the new store will occupy the former Express store space and also the space next to it, where Ann Taylor was. The store will extend all the way to Lord & Taylor and will be large, taking up some 20,650 square feet.

H&M's return to Danbury is part of a business model that has seen more than a dozen H&M stores opening up nationwide heading into this year's holiday season.

If you're one of the first 500 shoppers to visit the new store on Thursday (August 22), you'll receive an "H&M Access to Fashion Pass" that's valued at up to $300. Other shoppers could also receive a $10 day pass.

H&M's hours will be 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday, and 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday.

H&M also has other locations in Connecticut, including stores in the Stamford Town Center, the Connecticut Post Mall, as well as in Waterbury, Meriden, Farmington, Manchester and Westbrook.
