What I am Thankful For – An Open Letter to My Loved Ones
Recently, an Ethan and Lou Show listener approached me and told me I need to have more gratitude in my life. His observation is understandable.
Publicly, all I do is complain about EVERYTHING. Privately, however, I am not ashamed to tell the people I love how much they mean to me. His point was well-taken, though. I should shout to the world how thankful I am for what I have.
I have all the things that people seek in life. I have an intelligent, beautiful woman who truly loves me for who I am. Thank you, Erica. She is the real deal. She puts our family first and herself second — always. People like this are rare in life. I have a true partner, friend, and equal. She is the best human being I know.
I have four wonderful, well-behaved, healthy children. They make me laugh, they make me think, and they make me strive to be a better human. They are the best reason I can think of for getting out of bed each day.
My Mom, Dad, and sisters love me and demand my best. Our family is big, our family is engaged and they are there for whatever you need. Thanks, Mom, Dad, Renee, Katy and Anna.
I have a job I love doing. I get a sense of accomplishment every day from my work. It has provided me with opportunities to meet amazing people, live out dreams, and have fun in exchange for pay.
I, like many people, could rattle off a long list of the wants and wishes for my life. I could tell you in a hurry what is missing. Love, respect, fun and health would not be on that list. I have the things that make life great and for that I am thankful.
This is a good life.
