Memorable Moments in NFL History: Mark Gastineau

"He's givin' him the business!"  How could I forget this one?  I got a phone call from my friend Joe Cann this morning.  He wanted to be sure that I would add this to the Most Memorable Moments list for the NFL.  It has to be in here he said and he is right. 

"Givin' him the business" 

You gotta love Mark Gastineau.  In fairness though he was indeed "givin' him the business."

"Howard Cosell announces John Lennon's death on Monday Night Football" 

Monday December 8th 1980 John Lennon was murdered and most of America learned of his passing while watching Monday Night Football.  I have to credit one of the Ethan and Lou listeners for reminding me to make sure this was on the list...now if I could only just remember his name.

"Wardrobe Malfunction"

During the 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance with Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson Justin ripped open Janet's shirt revealing her nipple.  The whole country lost their minds and the phrase: "wardrobe malfunction" was coined.

"The Juice is on the loose" 

This was not a sparkling moment in NFL history but easily one of the most memorable.  One of the NFL's crown jewels O.J. Simpson started a media firestorm in 1994.  He took off with buddy Al Cowlings in his white Ford Bronco and we would soon learn he was accused of the murder of his wife Nicole and Ron Goldman.  I was standing in the living room with my dad and we stayed with the whole chase as did the rest of America.

"Hell yeah I suck toes!" 

Rex Ryan loves to suck toes.  When we learned of this it was great fodder for shows like mine and we would never look at him the same.
