The body that was found in a wooded area off Rt. 69 near Wolcott has been identified as 26-year-old Janet Avalo-Alvarez, according to Waterbury Police.

NBC CT reported that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide saying she was strangled. Waterbury Police are saying that her boyfriend, 32-year-old Alfredo Peguero-Gomez is now a suspect in the case. Let's roll the videotape.

Police have not been able to locate Peguero-Gomez who has dual-citizenship in the U.S and the Dominican Republic. Investigators are saying that he has left the state of Connecticut and U.S. Marshals are trying to find out his location.
