Waterbury PD Announces Holiday Weekend DUI and Safety Checkpoint
With the long Fourth of July holiday weekend coming up, and the actual holiday being this Saturday night, the city of Waterbury has just sent out information about another upcoming DUI and safety checkpoint happening this week.
As part of the Waterbury Police Department Traffic Services Summer Traffic Safety Initiative, Waterbury PD will be conducting another DUI Sobriety and Safety Checkpoint on Thursday July 2, 2020 between 9PM and 2AM in the area of 422 Highland Avenue, which is basically in front of Kennedy High School in the Town Plot section of town.
The checkpoint is part of the Waterbury PD's ongoing expanded DUI enforcement campaign, supervised by the Traffic Services Unit, and funded through a grant from the State D.O.T. DUI Enforcement Program.
So, if you're expecting to meet up with the crew at Highland Brass, D'Amelio's, La Tavola, or, you just have to make a last minute run to Dollar General on Fairfield Ave on Thursday night, make sure you do it safely and soberly, because the Waterbury PD will be out there ready to take you off the road quickly if you don't.
