A 26-year-old Waterbury man with multiple outstanding warrants is in a heap of trouble after allegedly fleeing from a Connecticut State Police traffic stop at a high rate of speed, only to be captured at Jasper White's Summer Shack in the Mohegan Sun Casino. Mohegan Sun and their incredible restaurants are a couple of my favorite places in the world. A post from the Connecticut State Police about this unidentified Waterbury man caught my attention.

According to the Connecticut State Police - Troop E in Montville, on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 3:50 PM, troopers were on the side of I-395 in Waterford near Exit 2, when CSP Trooper Cash caught a vehicle doing 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the operator increased it's speed, recklessly weaving in and out around traffic, so troopers broke off pursuit near Exit 6 on I-395 NB.

Shortly afterwards, Montville Police Officer Fazzino located the unoccupied vehicle in a parking garage at the Mohegan Sun Casino. With the help of Mohegan Tribal Police, the 26-year-old unidentified suspect from Waterbury was found to be reportedly attempting to stuff his face with a delicious lemonade at Jasper White's Summer Shack (Thank you for the info Nick Dee on Newsbreak).

I guess running from multiple police departments works up a healthy appetite for sea bass and fried oysters? The suspect was ordered to drop the clam, not really, but he was placed under arrest, and taken into custody. It was discovered that the man had 3 outstanding warrants from Berlin, Manchester, and Stratford for larceny, trespass, and pursuit charges. The suspect also faces numerous charges for fleeing the initial traffic stop including:

  • Disobeying Signal of an Officer
  • Reckless Driving
  • Passing on Right
  • Failure to Renew Registration
  • Failure to Stop on Right
  • Operating with Unsafe Tires
  • Tint Law Violation

All in, huh-huh, the man is now being held on $37,500 total bail. The shrimp boil at Jasper White's Summer Shack is one of the most delicious things that I've ever had, but, is it enough for me to run away from the police and rack up multiple criminal charges? Ummmm. no.

Whether stopping for gas, getting a coffee or just grabbing a snack, gas stations/convenience stores should be convenient, but that is not always the case. Sometimes you wait in long pump lines, some gas station lots have an odd configurations, the staff can be slow to ring you out or you get stuck behind people buying 50 Lotto tickets. These Danbury gas stations have cracked the code, they don't fall into the common mistakes that make a gas station stop a headache. These are "Some of Danbury's Best Gas Stations When You Are In a Rush."
