Maybe you've seen it in the news that vehicle thefts are surging throughout Connecticut. Many local Police Departments have taken to their social media accounts in an attempt to warn citizens to never leave keys or valuables in your vehicle and lock the doors even if you're at a gas station or only running into the store for a minute.

A terrifying incident unfolded in Naugatuck and Waterbury yesterday afternoon that started with an armed carjacking and ended after the vehicle crashed into a Waterbury home. According to the Naugatuck Police Department, at 4:20PM yesterday (March 22, 2021), NPD responded to reports of an attempted carjacking on Jolie Road.

According to the report, the homeowner on Jolie Road heard a noise in his home, and found a man sitting inside his vehicle in his garage. The male suspect pulled out a gun, pointed it at the homeowner and ran outside to a white Acura MDX which had two other men inside of it. The suspect with the gun is described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic Male, wearing a puffy hoodie and all black clothes. The driver of the Acura is described as a thin build, light-skinned male, with a green and black jacket, with a red or blue hat or doo-rag on his head. The other passenger was described as a heavy-set, light-skinned Hispanic male wearing all black.

Shortly after the incident in Naugatuck, the alleged thieves crashed the white Acura MDX into a residence on Windy Drive in Waterbury and fled the scene in another vehicle, possibly the color white.
