Unlocking the Takeout Obsession Sweeping Connecticut!
If life in Connecticut could be summed up in one word, I think it would be "convenience." We are comfort creatures here in the Nutmeg State looking to avoid as much hassle as we possibly can. I mean everyday life gives us enough to tackle in the Constitution State, who needs more?
A new food study backs this up and says Connecticut residents are obsessed with takeout food and it shows in the rankings. The Cookie Rookie ran a study to find the Top 10 States in the US that are most interested in takeout food and this is how the rankings worked out.
1. Rhode Island
2. Delaware
3. South Carolina
4. Michigan
5. Arizona
6. Florida
7. Connecticut
8. Alaska
9. Oregon
10. Ohio
But one Cookie Rookie expert says this probably is not the healthiest way to live. Becky Hardin is a recipe expert with the Cookie Rookie who says:
“The food we consume plays a big part in our physical and mental health, but it’s also crucial to incorporate better dinner time habits into our lifestyles. Having bad dinner time habits can impact your finances and sleep to name a few so here at The Cookie Rookie, we wanted to share some of our top tips to help improve your dinner time structure. Meal planning is a great way to work out what meals you’ll be having for each day of the week and what ingredients you’ll need to buy. Without a plan, you’ll find yourself spending more money as you’ll have to visit the supermarket more frequently and you’re more likely to eat unhealthy foods that are more convenient. It’s also important to establish a regular meal time and avoid eating at different periods each day. If you have a busy schedule and don’t always have time to cook during the evenings, consider preparing meals in a crockpot which can be left to slowly cook throughout the day.”
Here is what I would say to Becky, I hear you, I do BUT we can't have the "what are we having for dinner" conversation anymore, it is a killer. That discussion can test even the strongest relationships. People here are way too tired at the end of the day to start dreaming up and crafting culinary delights.
