Train Derails in Danbury, Extended Road Closure Expected

Traffic seems to be heavy in the Greater Danbury area today, and what is up with the railroads around here? If you're traveling toward International Drive and/or Eagle Road, make sure to find an alternate route.

The Danbury Fire Department reported that International Drive between Federal Road and Eagle Road overpass is closed due to a derailed trail car. If you are anywhere in the area, expect delays as it is reported for the road to expect an extended closure.

This story comes on the heels of another local closure due to an out of the ordinary situation regarding rail roads, as Greenwood Avenue in Bethel will reportedly be closed throughout the day and the rest of the weekend due to a sinkhole underneath the railroad tracks.
