It's getting tougher and tougher for us movie lovers to make the commitment to actually go to a movie theater to enjoy our flicks, but I found a simple, game-changing feature inside Apple Cinemas in Torrington that I would love to tell you about.

Most movie theaters around the state have modernized their seating to include powered and heated reclining seats, I've been going to Southbury's Riverview Cinemas almost exclusively for the past couple of years, but my wife and I took in Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale at Apple Cinemas on Farley Place in Torrington over the weekend. Sad to say, but this was the first time that we've gone to a movie at this theater, but it's the first visit of many because this theater has movable trays at each seat for your popcorn, soda, and contents of your pockets.

A simple feature, right? But this is what we have in our homes that I never had at a movie theater, until now. The simple act of putting my phone down in front of me, with a flat surface? I never realized what I was missing out on before. Now, the reclining seats at Apple Cinemas are not powered, it took a minute in futzing around to figure out that it's a manual old-school recliner, and they do not have the heated seats option either, but this tray? Totally makes up for it.

As far as I know, this is the only theater that has this feature at each seat. It's a simple improvement that I never considered during my movie theater-going experience that I never realized I needed so badly. Bravo Apple Cinemas - Torrington.

The Four Best Gyros That I've Recently Inhaled in Connecticut

Sliced, spiced lamb meat, roasted on a vertical grill, layered on a pita, slathered in Tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, and onion. A simple, traditional Greek gyro is a delicious treat. Some use lamb meat, while others use pork, beef, or even chicken. Here's the five best gyros that I've recently tried in Connecticut

The Best 'Made in Litchfield County' Products I've Tried Recently

I love supporting local businesses, it's vital in 2025 to try to devote as much of our income to our friends and neighbors, if not, the wave of closures will continue. I bought four products made in Litchfield County in the past few months that really impressed me. On a National stage, I believe they are as good, if not superior, to the name brands.
