People who listen to my radio show will often ask, "why are you so negative?"

It's a critique I've heard a lot, and sometimes when you hear that, the best way to respond is sarcastically. You think, maybe it's time to start pointing out the positives, even if they are not there.

That is exactly what one CT Tik-Toker did recently when he was told he was too negative. His name is @eightsixokris and he posted a video to Tik-Tok and Facebook on December 3rd. He ran down the Top 5 places to visit in CT and they were the following:

1 - North End of Hartford - higjlighted the "wonderful people, low crime and exquisite food."

2 - Brass Mill Center (Waterbury) - He said "you definitely won't find kids fighting here on Christmas Eve or cops pepper spraying people."

3 - Barnum Avenue (Bridgeport) - He referred to it as "lively" and posted it's the "Wall Street of CT."

4 - Quassy Amusement Park - He said Quassy has "the most renowned beach in CT" that has "not a single spec of dirt."

5 - Buckland Hills Mall (Manchester, CT)

Well played sir, give the people what they want. If they are screaming for, and demanding positivity, deliver it, even if you have to fabricate it.

I may need to see if @eightsixokris wants to help write travel articles for the State of CT, he can deliver on "all the places to avoid in CT" without hurting any feelings.

I've had some hilarious moments in the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury. I used to have a podcast that I did with a comedian (RC Smith), it was called the "Smith and Milano Show." RC and I had a silent partner (Brad Axelrod) who invested some time and money into the project and bought studio equipment.

In an effort to save us money, we used a laptop that belonged to Brad, he used it for his other business. We did the podcast at my house in Danbury and Brad lived way East of Danbury in CT. We decided that Waterbury was a midway drive for both of us to meet an exchange the laptop each week.

This exchange always took place in the parking lot of the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury. I saw some amazing things there on Saturday mornings. Do you know what "hand-to-hands" are? That's a drug deal where the dealer and customer exchange the goods and cash with a quick handshake. The Brass Mill Center is the Mecca of "Hand-to-hands."

I also had one guy who would post up by the McDonald's every day, sing happy songs and ask me for cash. Sometimes I'd throw him a couple bucks but if I didn't have any he'd get pissed and walk away. He wasn't gone for long, he'd usually be back in a few minutes to pick up my used cigarettes butt and smoke it.

Finally, another guy came up to me and said "you know ass?" I replied by repeating what he said, making sure I had it right, "Do I know ass?" He then turned around, bent over, pulled down his pants and shouted "Dat ass!"

I literally laughed out loud when I saw Brass Mill on this list. I have a request, I'd love to see him do a review of Stratford Avenue in Bridgeport.

Youtube Video Proves There is More Nightlife in Danbury Than I Thought

I'm at Hat City resident and have been for the last six years, and last year we moved from the Germantown Road area to Downtown Danbury. My wife and I can, and do walk to dinner at places like Pippa's, Empire of the Incas and Two Steps but when dinner is over, sometimes we want to stay out, get some drinks and dance but haven't found a lot of options. Maybe I wasn't looking closely enough or I was overlooking some existing options. I found a new video on Youtube that suggests I am missing something. I know there are some Spanish spots downtown that I've been curious about but never visited and now this video confirms that I need to take a closer look.

If the Greater-Danbury Area Towns Were Christmas Movies

When this topic came up in our office, my ears perked right up. The question was simple “If Greater Danbury Towns Were Christmas movies, which would they be and why? It’s so simple and yet so complex, it made no sense and gave me a topic to argue with my friends. I was so excited about it, I wrote them down, and this is the list:

5 Underrated Christmas Movies Your Family Has Probably Never Seen Before

We all know that selecting a movie for a group of people is not easy and that is how you found yourself here, asking advice from an angry radio personality. On paper, I’m not fit to make decisions for myself, let alone an entire group of strangers. But, you are in the right place because to quote Dwight Schrute “I know everything about film, I’ve seen over 240 of them.”

You’ve found yourself at a common roadblock, one or more of your family members have decided they want to watch a movie they’ve never seen before. You suggested “Elf” and someone said, “not again”, you said we can watch “Home Alone” and someone groaned “nooooo.”

What Christmas movie can you watch that you’ve never seen before? These are 5 Underrated Christmas Movies Your Family Has Probably Never Seen.

12 Signs You're a True American 'Tough Guy'

Our culture morphs and those shifts mean certain types of behavior have an expiration date. What you once thought was "cool" or "tough" may make you look like a straight up D-bag now. The problem is, when our culture pivots, not everyone gets the memo.

You could find yourself in a room with someone born in the 60's, another in the 80's, a man who was born in the 90's and another in the 2000's, they are all going to have different ideas about what makes them a man.

What makes you a "tough guy" today? For starters, the term itself is a punch line, if someone calls you a "tough guy", they are picking on you. This list was supposed to be titled "Top Signs You're a Raging Douche" but my editor nixed that, so these are the "Top Signs You're a Real Tough Guy."
