Newtown Police: Sandy Hook Teen Arrested in Ongoing Robbery Investigation
One alleged criminal caught, and more still on the radar of the Newtown Police Department.
Here's yet another example of the diligence of police departments and great detective work to bring someone to justice. You know they try damn hard to always get their man.
A release from the Newtown Police Department says one man has been apprehended in a robbery, but more could be charged too.
The release says that on April 25, 2017 Stephen Violet, age 19, of Sandy Hook, was arrested on a Superior Court Warrant charging him with first degree robbery. According to investigators, Violet is accused of robbing the Citgo Gas Station on South Main Street in Newtown Connecticut on the evening of 1/20/17.
Lt. Bahamonde of the Newtown PD said:
This was great police work both, by both the Norwalk Police Department and the Detectives' Unit from the Newtown Police Department, who worked in cooperation, in putting this case together, that lead to this suspect, Stephen Violet, being arrested today
Violet has been in the custody of the Department of Corrections since Jan. 23rd of this year, and was in their custody at the time of his arrest. Bond was set on this warrant at $75,000.
According to police, other suspects are still being investigated as taking part in the robbery of the Citgo gas station, making the case still very active.
