I am a coffee gal. I am completely reliant on coffee to help start my day. I used to be someone who would go to chain coffee places all of the time, but now I am really big on local coffee shops. I think they taste so much better and I absolutely love the vibe inside of them. Checking out the different local shops around Connecticut has become something I love to do.

A lot of people would rather deal with convenience than the actual taste, so it's really easy to gravitate toward those chains. Just recently, TCMA came out with a list of the worst coffee chains around the country, and I was shocked to see how many were around Connecticut. Now listen, everyone has preference and that is fine. What I might like, you may hate. It'll all be okay.

When I saw this list, I wouldn't necessarily consider some of them coffee chains, but I guess since they sell coffee, they are a technical contender on the list. Starting at number 7, Taco Bell made the list. According to the article, their coffee is "quite bitter and low quality." There are about 43 Taco Bells in Connecticut, if that's your thing for breakfast.

Coming in at number 6 was Burger King. Another place I wouldn't necessarily stop on my way to grab a coffee, but some people would. The article said the coffee had “hard texture that makes me think of gas station hot plates and/or mineral oil." Number 4 on the list is 7 Eleven coffee. I know plenty of people that stop at these gas station convenient marts to grab their coffee in the morning. The article says that with 7 Eleven coffee, you'll most likely experience a burnt taste unless you're lucky with a brand new pot out. I guess that comes with the mix of gas station coffee.

Number 3 is a surprise to me. Starbucks lands as number 3 on the list. So you're telling me that Taco Bell's coffee is better than Starbucks? Hmm. I'm not sure about that. The article states that while their marketing is great, their coffee is bad and just tastes bland. I would definitely pick a local coffee shop over Starbucks, but I wouldn't agree that it sits as top 3 worst in America. But like I said in the beginning of the article, we all have different preferences.

The number 1 worst coffee chain in America? McDonald's. The article states that McDonald's coffee "just barely gets the job done" and made a claim about the cleanliness of the McCafe machines. I don't think I've ever had coffee from there, so I'm not too sure what it tastes like. I know it was a normal place for people to grab coffee and go, especially when they used to cost $1.

One thing I can take away from this is that you can pretty much get coffee anywhere you go. Does the entire country rely on coffee? Pretty much. I'll stick to my local coffee shops. How about you?
