The Many Diverse Eats Along Connecticut’s Rt. 202
US Route 202 is known by many names along it's 75-mile path between Danbury and Granby, Connecticut. It's also I-84, Rt. 7, Rt. 10, Litchfield Turnpike, and even Bantam Road, but it's all 202. Whatever, what I know is that there are lots of diverse places to eat along those 75 miles.
202 was designated in 1935, and relocated to its current path in 1974. It passes through Fairfield, Litchfield, and Hartford Counties. There are some stretches that are all woods, and some areas that are as busy as Rt. 1 along the shoreline. I'm a 202 commuter now between Torrington and Brookfield, and I noticed that there's a cuisine for everyone along those 75 miles. If you're a fan of grazing at local eateries along a nice weekend day trip, take a ride along 202 one of these days and stop at some of the excellent restaurants that I'm about to tell you about.
