The Cheapest Grocery Store in the Country Has 32 Connecticut Locations
The words "cheap" and "Connecticut" never usually sit in the same sentence. Like we've said time and time again, it is not a pleasant time in this economy. Everything is so dang expensive and we never really get a break financially. Especially in this state of ours, everything seems even more expensive.
Every time I go to the grocery store lately, I can't believe how much it costs even just for 1 bag full. I used to be able to get a good amount of groceries for $100, and now it seems like I spend that when I need to run to the store just to grab a few things.
At this point, I'm trying to find anyway to save a few dollars while going to get some groceries. A report by Ramsey Solutions just recently came out about the cheapest grocery store in America, and lucky for us, Connecticut has 32 of its locations.

Aldi is said to be the cheapest grocery store in the U.S. I personally was never a big Aldi shopper, but my friends love that store, so I'm always surprised when I go in there and see some of the deals they have. The store overwhelms me a little bit, but you definitely are getting better prices than you would at other grocery stores.
If you've never been to Aldi, you are missing out on some potential big savings. Aldi is unique in a way that you "rent" your own cart by giving a quarter which you will get back when you put your cart back, the cashiers don't bag your groceries, and no bags are offered.
The report also gave tips on some of the best things to buy at Aldi which includes baking supplies, fresh produce, chocolate, cheese and canned goods. If you're curious to see if there's an Aldi near you, you can check out the store locater here. We have a few options around the greater Danbury area.
