Danbury Names the 2017 Teacher of the Year
Beyond the joy of teaching it must be so heartwarming to receive an accolade of this nature. Hats off to one of Danbury's best.
My list is long of teachers that made an impact on my life. From grade school, right through my college years, I was blessed to have many educators encourage me while inspiring me too. It's always so amazing to find teachers who see the vision of the future for the children they have under their tutelage.
Kudos to Beth Manning, a science teacher at Westside Middle School Academy, for being chosen as the district’s Teacher of the Year for 2017 - 2018.
According to the Danbury Public Schools Facebook page, the posting about Manning says, in part:
Beth Manning started out as a pharmaceutical representative. But it wasn’t long before Manning felt the calling to become a teacher herself, a position that suits her love of science and her desire to share that passion with others. The Danbury educator has long been known in the district for her dedication in shaping the lives of her students, as well as her colleagues.
I would say that the pharmaceutical industries loss is truly Danbury's, and Beth Manning's students gain.
