So many times, we're reporting on places that are closing and people losing their jobs, but today, it's good news if you're looking to find employment.

It was just announced that Stop and Shop will be adding some 600 jobs in Connecticut, and at some locations in New York.

You may remember last spring, employees took to the picket lines to win contract concessions. Well it seems to have paid off for those working at the largest supermarket operator in Connecticut.

According to newstimes.com, each Stop and Shop will be adding as many as eight part- time jobs at each store in Connecticut, and some stores in New York. The overall goal of the chain is to improve customer service.

Overall, 600 positions need to be filled, including in-store counters, check out, stock, and even overnight shifts. Stop and Shop will be hosting a job fair this Saturday, August 31, from 12 pm to 4 pm at all their Connecticut locations. If you're unable to visit the job fair, you can always apply online at stopandshop.reidsystems.com.
