If you're a parent, you know how important it is to find a place to live that happens to be a great place to raise your family. In a new study just released, Stamford, CT was named one of the top 100 places to do just that.

According to stacker.com, Stamford, the only Connecticut city to make the top 100 list, was chosen for many reasons, one of which is its central location with  access to other major cities like New York, Hartford, and Boston. Also, let's not forget the miles of beaches on the Long Island Sound, the museums, the nature center, and more family friendly attractions.

Other criteria that was considered were things like access to public schools and school ratings, college graduation rates, cost of living, family amenities, outdoor recreation, transportation, diversity, and walk-ability. All scored high with Stamford residents, and the crime rate in Stamford is much lower than the national average too.

If there were any negatives about raising a family in Stamford, it was the overall cost of rent and housing. The median prices of $1,704 for rent, and home values at or near $516,000 can greatly affect raising a family, especially when the yearly income for a resident of Stamford is just under $85,000. That can really hinder your style of living, and take a big chunk out of your families budget.
