Bethel Teen Blackmailed By Sex Offender on Snapchat, Authorities Say

Authorities say that a sexual blackmailing scheme via Snapchat has entrapped 300 young women including a Bethel girl.

What is going on with Snapchat? If you don't know what Snapchat is, it's a social media app you download to your phone, where pictures and messages are only available for a short time, as in from 1 to 10 seconds. According to the NewsTimes, a skeevy Wisconsin guy hacked into Snapchat through the Bethel girl's friend. That friend was already believed to be in possession of some racy photos.

This dude had already been arrested once back in 2015 for sending pictures of his genitals to underage girls. He spent six months in prison and was required to register as a sex offender for ten years. Now, he has struck again, telling this young lady from Bethel that if she didn't send him more explicit photos of herself, he was going to make the photos he found on her friend's phone, public.

This deviant, named Barton Scott from Wisconsin, managed to hack into 300 Snapchat accounts that belonged to young women. He admitted contacting the Bethel teen, but claims that he wasn't aware she was under 18. There is currently an ongoing investigation by the FBI and Minnesota and Wisconsin authorities.

My take is that Snapchat is not the problem. It's the degenerate who's able con the system for his own personal perversions.
