Ridgefield High School students were sent home early Thursday morning after the school received a written threat.

If you logged onto the Ridgefield High School website this morning, this was the message you would have seen:

This morning, Ridgefield High School received a written threat.  Administration and Police responded immediately.  Out of an abundance of caution, we are dismissing RHS at 9:30 am. This dismissal (and the threat) does not affect Scott’s Ridge Middle School. The investigation is ongoing.

We thank you for your understanding.

Some media outlets were actually reporting a bomb threat, but the Ridgefield Police took to Facebook to set the record straight:

The school district and the police made no other comments about the incident except that this is an ongoing investigation.

Ridgefield High School has seen its share of breaking news over the last month. Recently their longtime Varsity Baseball Coach Paul Fabbri resigned suddenly after being suspended for a second time following a local investigation.

The school also had a very similar incident regarding a threat back in January.
