Ridgefield's Campbell Kinsmen's eighth grade school project turned into a successful non-profit company that helps kids in military families.

According to the Ridgefield Press, Campbell's eighth grade school project was directed towards helping someone. She figured since a lot of the kids chose projects to help out veterans, she came up with the brilliant idea of helping the kids who are part of a military family.

She named her company, BearHug, which is an organization that centers around providing comfort for military children by sending them care packages, and sometimes financial support.

Where does the money come from to fund the project? Kinsman has helped raise $30,000 to purchase the items that are boxed up and sent out. Each box of goodies that are mailed contain a handwritten note by a parent or child. This short video is a perfect example why BearHug works.
