Reward Being Offered For Information on Harwinton Dog Abandonment
There is not much on this Earth that makes me angrier than animal cruelty. I cannot watch any commercial on tv that shows a cold, shivering doggy. I have to change the channel immediately. Seeing an animal in distress makes me think of the owner, what kind of human being would do this to their dog or cat? I'm shocked when stories of animal abandonment or cruelty happens here in Connecticut.
I was scrolling through my news feed and came across a few haunting paintings over the weekend that stuck with me and the story behind them. I'd like to share in case you can help.
According to the Facebook post by the Harwinton Connecticut Animal Control, what you see above and below are an artist's (Black Sheep Art Studios) depiction of a deceased Husky mix dog that was found at the Harwinton Rec area on Friday, January 15, 2021. The pictures depict the dog with more weight than it had when it was found which is so, so sad.
According to the post, a $1,000 reward is being offered by Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates for information that leads to the capture and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this dog's condition and abandonment.
Even if you think you recognize or have seen a dog that you know looks like this, your information may help. Contact Harwinton Animal Control at 860-806-8743. All calls will be kept confidential.
