Popular Local Brand Brings Hot Bagels To Brewster

For owners Greg Scavelli and Mike Kienle, Bagels are something they know a lot about. They have been in the Bagel Business for almost 20 years. Now they're bringing their popular brand to Brewster.

It's called Brewster Hot Bagels and it's now open at 2505 Carmel Ave. The owners also own and operate JV Hot Bagels II in Shrub Oak, NY, which was voted "Best Bagels in Westchester" last year by the readers of lohud.com.

The new Brewster location will offer a similar menu to JV Hot Bagels 2 along with a few new additional bakery items. Brewster Hot Bagels will be open daily 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Greg Scavelli, one of the owners, told me "everyone's really excited we're open, this is our first Putnam County location". Mike Kienle, the other co-owner told lohud.com that they decided to pursue a second location in Brewster because they're confident in their product. "It's always been a goal of ours to expand, and hopefully we'll open more locations in the near future."

For now folks in Brewster get a chance to sink their teeth into some tasty bagels, Scavelli said "New York State has great water, and that's a very important part of making a great bagel".

The new Brewster location took over two former stores -- a nail salon and a subway.
