A routine routine speeding stop on Interstate 84 allegedly turned up a whole bunch of narcotics.

According to the Connecticut State Police, 42-year-old Edward J. Vargas was pulled over near exit 17 on I-84 in Middlebury after Trooper First Class Houle reportedly spotted him speeding.

From there, a subsequent investigation allegedly found Vargas to be in illegal possession of a stun gun that was manufactured to look like a mobile device (pictured above).

Police say a further search of the vehicle uncovered 203 grams of cocaine along with packaging material that typically coincides with illegal narcotic sales.

After being arrested and taken into custody, Vargas was processed at the CT State Police Troop A barracks in Southbury under charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, speeding and a tint sticker violation. He was released from custody after posting a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court in July.
