Local police are looking to the public for any information regarding a recent hit-and-run situation.

According to the Danbury Police Department, the motor vehicle collision involved an unknown car and an elderly Hispanic male. Police say the information that they do have indicates that the collision happened in the area of Main Street and Patch Street in Danbury (shown above) somewhere between the hours of 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM this past Wednesday, January 22.

Police say the elderly man was stuck by the unknown car, but then another reportedly Hispanic male, whose identity is also unknown to police, provided the man with a helping hand, assisting him in getting to the elderly man's nearby vehicle.

Danbury police ask that anyone who may have either witnessed the collision, or who may even be able to help them identify the person who brought the elderly man to his vehicle, contacts Officer Mike Russotti immediately at m.russotti@danbury-ct.gov.
