Police Identify Brookfield Man as Victim in Fatal Route 7 Crash in New Milford
Tragic news to report today, as a Brookfield man has been identified as the victim in a fatal Danbury Road crash in New Milford.
According to a report from the NewsTimes, 34-year-old Ryan Laedke of Brookfield was traveling south around 4:45 PM on Thursday afternoon (May 7) in the area of Faith Church on Route 7 in New Milford, near the Brookfield town line, when the 1995 Suzuki motorcycle he was operating collided with a 2020 Lexus SUV, which was reportedly being driven by an unidentified Bethel woman in her 70s.
While the woman operating the Lexus was not injured in the crash, Laedke was rushed to Danbury hospital, where unfortunately, he was pronounced dead.
The crash, which closed that particular section of Route 7 for an extended period of time, is still under investigation, and the New Milford Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Team determined that Ryan Laedke had in fact been wearing a helmet.
Anyone who may have witnessed or has any additional information regarding the crash is asked to contact Officer Smith of the New Milford PD at 860-355-3133.
All of us here at Townsquare Media of Danbury would like to extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Ryan Laedke.
