A Danbury man has been arrested on a variety of sexual assault charges.

According to a press release from the Danbury Police Department, members of the city's Special Victims Unit took 57-year-old, David Glahn Jr. of Coalpit Hill Rd., into custody following a lengthy investigation.

Police say that they began the investigation after receiving a complaint that Glahn had sexually abused a female child a number of years ago. Because of the sensitivity of the matter, police are currently withholding some details of the case to protect the victim.

The warrant for David Glahn's arrest was issued as a result of an investigative affidavit that was submitted to Danbury Superior Court.

Glahn has been charged with sexual assault in the first degree and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. He is currently being held for a predetermined, court-set bond pending release.
