A 15-year-old boy from Connecticut is facing some heavy charges after police say he led them on a wild chase through multiple towns in a stolen public works truck.

According to the Stratford Police Department, the teen allegedly stole a dump truck right from the property of the Stratford Public Works Department at around 6:30 PM on Wednesday evening (April 10).

Responding officers say the pursuit begun when they spotted the stolen truck when it was being driven through the parking lot of the Home Depot store on Barnum Avenue Cutoff in Stratford.

At that point, the juvenile driver reportedly refused to pull over and crashed into another vehicle before fleeing the area, driving the stolen dump truck at high speeds into the bordering city of Milford.

From there, officers say they were able to maintain contact with the young joyrider, before the suspect crashed again near Main Street and Cutspring Rd. in Stratford.

The 15-year-old was then arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, larceny, interfering with police, engaging police in pursuit and more traffic related offenses. By court order, the young man was remanded to custody.
