Police: Beauty Salon Employee in Norwalk Charged with Sexual Assault of Minor
It's not every day that a sexual assault occurs inside a beauty salon. However, on August 24th earlier this year, lives were potentially changed forever by virtue of an unexpected crime.
Since that day, the Special Victims Unit has been investigating the sexual assault complaint that reportedly happened at Khronos Beauty Salon at 250 Westport Avenue. Allegedly, one of the employees, Karoll Angelina Jurado-Hernandez's of Norwalk, CT, was the perpetrator of the assault, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
The investigation, lead by Detective LaPak, found Jurado Hernandez's DNA with the help of a search warrant. Subsequently, a warrant was issued for Jurado-Hernandez's arrest, and, on Tuesday (February 4th), she was arrested at the salon by the Special Victims Unit.
Jurado-Hernandez is being charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. She is being held at $250,000 bail and is set to appear in court later this month on February 18th in Norwalk.
This is the press release from the Norwalk P.D., posted on February 5th:
Evidently, sexual assault is on the minds of the people we least suspect and haunts the environments we've been taught to trust most. Call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673 if you need to report or cope with a crime.
