
Patients Found Wandering From New Milford Nursing Home
This New Milford nursing home is in big trouble with the state Department of Public Health.
According to CT Post, on June 14, 2019, two patients were located by a dietary aide walking around outside of the Village Crest Center for Health and Rehabilitation in New Milford. One of those residents had fallen and was a flight risk. Village Crest was fined $10,000 for two violations. The average cost of a private room is $9,155.
On June 28, 2019, at Watertown Convalarium six residents wandered away including one with dementia. Another patient had a psychotic disorder and anxiety. They were fined $9,260. The average cost of a private room is $7,908. Middlebury Convalescent Home and Grove Manor Nursing Home were also fined for violations by the Department of Public Health.
Middlebury Convalescent runs $10,189 per month for a private room which is $340 per day and Grove Manor comes in at $9,581 per month or $391 per day. In 2019, the average cost per day for a semi-private room in a Connecticut nursing home is $357. Don't you think for that kind of money I shouldn't have to worry about wandering down Poplar Street in New Milford?
