The best way to celebrate Mother's Day is stuffing mom's face with delicious Gyros and Spanakopita, and buy her a beautiful tomato plant. That's just my opinion, and thousands of people agree with me. The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church's 44th Annual Greek Festival is coming back Mother's Day Weekend, May 5-8, 2016. The church is located at 937 Chase Parkway in Waterbury. I love this event.

It takes place under the big white tent that you see in my photo above. The smell of Souvlaki and Gyro meat, plus coffee spiked with Ouzo is intoxicating. The beautiful Greek jewelry and famous tomato plants will be for sale under the tent, as well as the great raffle that the Church puts together. I always run into old friends and have quite a few laughs in between gulps of the delicious food and beverages.

This is a quick hitter Festival, the longest wait is in the food line obviously. Parking is usually a breeze in the huge parking lot. Get in, stuff your face, browse the merchandise, and you'll be in and out of there in about an hour. This makes multiple trips to the fest very easy. I like to go every day, being that I live about a mile away. I'll see you there.
