I feel like some Connecticut cities have been growing faster and faster over the years. This is a hot spot for people to move, even though it's extremely expensive to live here. If a family is able to swing it, they usually don't have a lot of bad things to say about raising a family in our state.

Something that always interests me is some of the towns and cities that you barely ever hear about. I feel like when you grow up in one part of the state, that's where you're accustomed to being sectioned off to. One of my good friends grew up in Suffield and told me that Fairfield feels like a "random" part of Connecticut. That put it into perspective for me very quickly.

USA.com has a list of Connecticut Population Growth Rate by City rank and the list itself surprised me. There weren't a lot of towns from our part of the state on that list, let alone at the top of the list. There were even a lot of places that I haven't heard of.

What was the place that sat at the top of that list? Crystal Lake. The website said the city had a population growth rate of 62.99%. Crystal Lake is located in the town of Ellington. It has a smaller population, but is apparently growing pretty quickly. The website niche.com described Crystal Lake by saying "living in Crystal Lake offers residents a rural feel and most residents own their homes. Many families and young professionals live in Crystal Lake."

To consider this one of the fastest growing places surprises me, but hey, I'm just going off of the data in front of me. A few other places in Connecticut to follow Crystal Lake on that list were Mashantucket, New Hartford Center, Collinsville, Storrs, Broad Brook, South Windham, etc. Danbury landed on that list at number 32.

Have you heard of all of those places on that list?
